Biome is a granular texture instrument: drag in any audio and it grows the sound into a huge evolving ecosystem of pads, drones and atmospheres. A vocal, a guitar note, a field recording of birds, a crackly vinyl loop, anything works. Granular synthesis chops the audio into tiny grains, then layers and stretches those grains into brand new sound, and Biome wraps that engine in controls that are impossible to get wrong.
In the default PLAY mode Biome behaves like an instrument: sound starts when your MIDI note starts and stops when it ends, higher notes lift the texture and lower notes deepen it, and a drawn chord becomes a pad. FIT loops the texture in time with your song over 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars while keeping the pitch untouched, and FIT+PITCH gives you the classic sampler repitch instead. Factory presets give you starting points, SAVE keeps your own, and A/B lets you flip between two settings to hear which one wins.

PLAY is MIDI-gated: notes start and stop the sound, and pitch follows the keys. DRONE plays continuously with no MIDI, which suits resampling and ambient workflows.
Yes. FIT is a pure granular time-stretch that locks the texture to 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars at the original pitch. FIT+PITCH is the classic repitch version, so you get both.
Biome is 39 dollars, and it is free to download during the launch window. VST3 and AU for macOS, Windows coming soon.
