▶ WITH SOUND
Birds. One of Sebastian's own recordings dropped straight onto Fireplace in Ableton. Not a preset: any sound you own becomes an endless texture bed.
What Fireplace does
Fireplace puts a room around your music. Drop it on your master or a bus and it lays living atmosphere UNDER the beat. Eight rooms, and every one of them is either generated live or built from a real recording Sebastian made himself. Nothing loops. Nothing sits on top of your drums. The whole plugin listens to your music and gets out of the way.
Pick your room
One dropdown, eight rooms. Every room comes with its own scene in the window, and every scene moves with the sound.
FIREPLACE. A real hearth, recorded up close. Low roar, wood snapping, embers fizzing up the chimney. Played back in long overlapping windows so the fire burns for hours and never repeats. The flames burn brighter as you turn it up.
RAIN ON WINDOW. A real forest downpour Sebastian recorded during a storm. Steady, soft and endless. Rain on the glass, you inside, warm.
SM-404 CRACKLE. Vinyl sim and DJFX crackle recorded straight off an SP-404, completely untouched. The pops, the dust, the box. The pads on screen flash on every real crackle.
SM-303 CRACKLE. The older box. Recorded from an SP-303, raw. Sparser, rounder, meaner. For beats that want that early 2000s basement feel.
VINYL ATTIC. Sebastian's studio tape machine, recorded running with nothing on the reel, then filtered down to pure crackle: sharp dust ticks and soft round pops, each one landing somewhere new across your headphones. No hiss, no rumble.
WIND. New in 1.7. A real gust recorded in the open, stretched into weather that never repeats. The window opens on Pine Hollow: dark conifers, ferns and a creek running toward you, and the whole forest bends with every gust. DUCK calms it down while your track plays.
TAPE ROOM. The machine room: tape hiss with a slow wow drift, faint mains hum, blinking meters. For beats that sound like they were left running overnight.
YOUR TEXTURE. The empty room. Drag a wav, aiff, flac, mp3 or ogg from Finder or hit LOAD TEXTURE. Fireplace turns it into a seamless bed with no audible seam, ducks it under your music, and keeps your file loaded while you flip through the other rooms. Save it as a preset and the path travels with it.
Presets
The room dropdown is the whole browser. Open it: the eight rooms up top, YOUR PRESETS underneath, then SAVE PRESET and DELETE PRESET. Dial in a room, save it under your own name, and it is there in every session on this machine. Pick a room while a preset is loaded and you jump straight back to the factory sound. Unlimited saves.
The knobs
AMOUNT. How much room you pour under the music. The fire grows with it.
DUCK. The secret weapon. The ambience listens to your music and tucks itself under every hit, then swells back in the gaps. Your beat breathes.
TONE. Dark and woolly to bright and crisp. Same room, different mood.
DISTANCE. Pull the room close or push it to the far wall. Closes the top end and sinks the level like real distance does.
OUT. Output trim, plus a true bypass button.
INIT (right-click any knob). Right-click, two-finger tap or Cmd-click a knob and pick INIT: that one control snaps back to the preset you loaded.
Why it beats a noise sample
A crackle sample loops. You hear the loop, your listeners hear the loop, and it sits ON TOP of your mix fighting the drums. Fireplace never repeats: the recorded rooms play in long shuffled windows with slow crossfades, the generated rooms are built live from scratch, and your own textures get the same treatment. The DUCK knob keeps all of it underneath the music where it belongs. That is the difference between an ambience layer and a WAV file.
Common questions
How much is Fireplace? $15, one-time. Instant download after checkout. Full version, all eight rooms, no locked knobs, no subscription.
Are the recordings real? Yes. The fire, the rain, the wind, both SP crackle rooms and the Vinyl Attic tape machine are Sebastian's own recordings, shipped inside the plugin exactly as recorded. No synthesized crackle layered on top. That is why the download is bigger than our other effects (about 70 MB). Worth it.
What can I drop into Your Texture? Any wav, aiff, flac, mp3 or ogg, any length. Short files get stretched into a seamless bed, long files play in random windows so they never loop. Drag from Finder or use LOAD TEXTURE (DAW browser drags hand over clips, not files, so use Finder).
Is there a Windows version of Fireplace? Yes. Fireplace ships for macOS (VST3 + AU) and Windows (VST3), code-signed on both. One purchase covers both platforms.
